Restaurant to take boyfriend near Madison Square Garden?

I'm going to NYC with my boyfriend next week for his birthday. We're going to the auto show at Jacob Javits, and then I want to take him to dinner. I'd like to eat somewhere in the close vicinity of Madison Square Garden so we don't have to worry about running to catch a train. Any suggestions for a good, reasonably priced place? He's turning 24, and we're into American, Italian and Barbecue food. And we looooove desserts lol. Thanks!Restaurant to take boyfriend near Madison Square Garden?
one really nice restaurant close by is called niles. its a steak spot. its kinda upscale i mean your boyfriend doesnt have to wear a suit and tie but just look nice. i really enjoyed it there and the food was good. http://www.nilesnyc.com/

then 8 blocks up in the times square area, you can walk in as you are to dave n busters, red lobster, applebees, ruby tuesday, bubba gump shrimp. walking or taking a cab might be easier than catching the train, even though its 1 stop on the train

in times square there is an italian spot called carmines http://www.carminesnyc.com/ here you could dress casual. they only serve family size portions, no individual plates so you and your bf would have to agree on the same thing

over on the east side is caliente cab http://calientecab.com/home.html. just click the tab "franchise" and youll see the location for the one on 33rd st. its a mexican spot. come dressed as you are. the margaritas are delicious.

and close by is brother jimmys http://www.brotherjimmys.com/ its by 31st and lexington. its a bbq spot. come as you are. if your guy is really into sports hell like it here. they have different games playing on various tv screens and about 5 different bbq sauces for you to try. my only downfall with this places is that it can get pretty noisy. but i keep going back.

hope i helpedRestaurant to take boyfriend near Madison Square Garden?
