One is for a birthday dinner (a place that has good steak would be nice for the person celebrating their bday) and another is anything goes (seafood or italian im thinking but im want a "BEST" suggestion for that one).I'm planning to visit at least 2 restaurants for NYC restaurant week. Anyone have some suggestions?
Birthday Dinner:
The Post House - I have come to this restaurant only once, but I remember the steaks being fantastic.

Peter Luger's (in Brooklyn) - I have never been, but this restaurant has the best reputation of all the steak houses in NYC. Supposed to be very good. Also, bring cash, I heard they don't take credit cards.

The Old Homestead - Also have never been to this one, but it also is supposed to be one of the great ones.

"Anything Goes":
John's Pizzeria - BEST pizza in the city, definitely. It's not only pizza, their Italian style entrees are delicious as well. When I come here, I like getting the pizza with Caesar Salad.

Mediterraneo - BIG family favorite. Most of my family gatherings are here, we love this restaurant. It's Italian, they have lots of pasta, chicken, fish, etc. My favorite dish here is the Penne al Sugo Toscano. (pasta with meat sauce, but it is amazing, I don't know how they make it so good.)
