Any good recommendations for a Theatre District restaurant in NYC that's good and not too $$$?

Leaving next week on a visit with a friend to NYC.

I visied Joe Allen about 6 years ago - didn't know what it is like now - saw Timothy Hutton and Brooke Shields there. I had been told it was a good place to go and maybe spot a celebrity. I am open to other suggestions, though :)Any good recommendations for a Theatre District restaurant in NYC that's good and not too $$$?
Becco
I really enjoyed going to the Bubbagump Shrimp Factory (or something like that) located in Times Square. The food was excellent, the service was top notch and the prices were quite reasonable. Dunno about spotting any celebs there, but the dining was great!! There was another place around the corner from that and the food was amazing...beautiful restaurant but unfortunately I cannot remember the name of it.Any good recommendations for a Theatre District restaurant in NYC that's good and not too $$$?
If you like Cuban Food try Victor's Cafe at 236 W. 52nd Street.
Luxia- Good food, good prices, not too celebrity savy.

Shimizu- GREAT sushi, GREAT/authentic drinks, sit elbow to elbow with some celebs at the sushi bar.Any good recommendations for a Theatre District restaurant in NYC that's good and not too $$$?
We always go to Ellen's Stardust Diner on Broadway when we see a show. The staff entertains you with show tunes non-stop, they'll even jump on chairs and sing happy birthday if you ask! The food is very good, comfort food at its best, and the price is not bad at all. Enjoy!
Carmines is an excellent place for family style Italian food. It is excellent and the prices are not bad. Celebs sometimes are spotted there, but there is usually a sizable wait before shows.
You've gotta go to Carmine's. The food is always great. Huge portions.
Carmine's is usually too crowded. Try Lattanzi 361 West 46 St. Right in theater district with great Italian food. Not the best to spot celebrities however, but you never know. They go to the high priced places, like Mr. Chow's on East 57th off of Second Ave. Hang out outside after 9 pm and you are bound for a sighting. (Saw Cher there).
Gotta agree Carmine's is one of the best. But there are plenty more restaurants in the area. One of the old time standards for French food is Pierre Au Tunnel, can't remember the address. They are geared to getting you out to the theater. Also, for something different, Jezebel's, a taste of the old South, totally wonderful food and incredible atmosphere. Great service. There's always Ellen's Stardust Diner, but it can get crowded, so may be a bit tight to eat there and make it to a show, you would have to go early.
Carmines is the best. Order one entree for 2 people, the portions are huge!!! Can't wait for a table, eat at the bar and make some friends at the same time
Bubba Gump is a good, not too expensive place to eat right in Times Square. Also, on 46th Street between 8th %26amp; 9th Avenues is restaurant row, check out the restaurants located there on the website:

The hard rock cafe is fun and nice but might be alittle expencive. A place called Simply Pasta. It is a cute pasta and pizza place. The address is:

120 W 41st St

New York, NY 10036

(212) 391-0805

The margherita pizza was very Good!
We tried to go to Carmine's but the wait was too long so we went to John's Pizzeria on W. 44th Street (recommended by my cousin, a local) -- so glad we did -- former church turned into great casual restaurant. Yum!
