Best restaurant in NYC?

Looking for a restaurant with good food and not too bad of a price. What's your favorite? We'll be visiting in 2 weeks. Also include the type of food. Thanks and Happy New year!Best restaurant in NYC?
The Red Cat (American Food)

Located on 10th Ave between 23rd and 24th

The atmosphere is very romantic, candlelit and its good food for the price you pay.

Raoul's (French Food)

180 Prince St.

Reservations needed. The food is delicious and you can request to dine in the Garden Room (all the way in the back of the restaurant through the kitchen!) where it is more private and quiet.

it's mexican food - authentic, too - and a great deal. perfect for a brunch to set you up for a day of sight-seeing, or for a big dinner at the end of it all. the locals love it, which is always a good sign, right?
