How much money should I take to NYC w/me?

I plan on going next summer for about a week. I won't do much shopping(if any), or eating in fancy restaurants, or any restaurants much, honestly. I'll probably do alot of sightseeing, window shopping, and eating at places like subway or small diners haha. Not including the plane ticket or the sleeping arrangements, how much should I bring?

Seriously, in this day and age who even thinks about how much money to take along on any trip?. Bring about $100, and your ATM card!



There's at least one ATM (and usually three or four) on pretty much any block in NYC. Money's there when you need it, there's no reason to travel with a bunch of cash.
