In the Pokemon games, do you transfer your already trained pokemon to your new game?

I'm getting Black and white tomorrow, and I'm not sure if I should transfer my old pokemon and start the new game with my strong pokemon from the other games, or just start normally with the new pokemon. Your opinions are greatly appreciated and will help me decide. In the Pokemon games, do you transfer your already trained pokemon to your new game? You cannot use PokeTransfer until you have beaten the main story. Then you can transfer your Pokemon, but don't worry, there is still a lot of stuff to do after the main story, there's almost another story after you beat it. (However if you have those event Pokemon on to get Zorua/Zoroark or the Lock Capsule, you can transfer those using the Relocator. Go to the left building in the northern road of Castelia, talk to the scientist guy and say Everybody Happy Simple Connection, and you will have the Relocator on the main menu.)In the Pokemon games, do you transfer your already trained pokemon to your new game?
well, in order to transfer from 4th gen to 5th gen, you have to beat the elite four first. so you cant trade over you already trained pokemon from 4th gen. sorry.

although a loophole is that if you have a friend who can transfer pokemon you can have him/her transfer your pokemon to his/her game then trade them to you for like a patrat (the rattata of 5th gen) or something else that is useless. (it should work, i haven't tried it in 5th gen but that's what i did in my diamond)

also, no, you cant trade back and forth between generations. once a Pokemon is on a 5th gen game it can't be sent to 4th gen. whoever told you that you can is a idiot.

oh, and to answer you question in the additional details box, no i personally would not. its more fun to start from scratch.

P.S. just in case you didn't know, 4th generation games are diamond, pearl, platinum, heart gold, and soul silver.

5th generation games are black and white. In the Pokemon games, do you transfer your already trained pokemon to your new game?I'm pretty sure you can't even transfer pokemon from D/P/Pt/HG/SS until the end of the game, so I'd say go with start fresh (would have been my recommendation any way. If it means anything, I would have transferred over the strong ones, but used fresh ones any way.)

-----EDIT-----

Well there are two possible scenarios to this. one positive, one negative.

-.)You can't trade in between games of different generations, you can only transfer, which can only be done post-game, and this game is no exception. While they may both be standard DS cartridges, you cannot trade in between, or else there would exist the risk of putting a 5th gen pokemon onto a 4th gen game... one that does not recognize 5th gen pokemon, making this impossible, meaning you have to wait until post-game to transfer the pokemon from D/P/Pt/HG/SS onto B/W unless...

+.) You have either a friend with a copy of Black and/or White completed all the way through, or you yourself have one. If this scenario is true, you could transfer the pokemon from the 4th gen game onto the B/W that is completed and has access to professor Park's Lab, then after that is completed, trade the newly transferred pokemon from the completed B/W cartridge onto the new cartridge via standard trading (although, I would do this but still start with new pokemon.)
I don't think your allowed to untill you finish the game, but if I had the choice I would train the new weak pokemon first untill they were the same level as the strong ones and then use the ones from both games. If you started the game using your strong pokemon then it would just be too easy when your surrounded by level 2s and 3s etc. and the game could get boring. Plus if you see a rare pokemon you want, you might not be able to catch it becuase you'd just end up killing it if it needs to be weakened. Train the new pokemon first. In the Pokemon games, do you transfer your already trained pokemon to your new game?Yes, the others are right. You can transfer from your other games into your Black and White game, but you need to finish the main story, that's after defeating the Elite 4 for the first time. Since you're gonna trade from and to different regions, you're gonna PokeShift them. You cannot return your Pokemon you shifted already. If you wanna know hoe to transfer, watch this video --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5njXc02M…In the Pokemon games, do you transfer your already trained pokemon to your new game?
As others have said you can not transfer pokemon to black and white from the older games until you have at least finished the story. Also when you do transfer the pokemon its permanent, you can not transfer them back to the older games.
You can't transfer poekmon from another game until you've completed the metagame.

Hope it helped. In the Pokemon games, do you transfer your already trained pokemon to your new game?
