Scratch on game, ordered new game, Do i have to start over on the game?

I have ordered a really cheap computer game off of Amazon, for my girlfriend. She really enjoys the desperate housewives game, and she has made it half way through the entire game and an error popped up and the game froze. I have cleaned the CD, looked online etc. Finally, I just contacted the seller, and requested a new copy. Is there a way for her to still have her saved place(in the game) with the new copy disk? Or will she have to start all over?Scratch on game, ordered new game, Do i have to start over on the game?Saves are stored on your PC unless you delete them manually/choose to delete them at the uninstaller/or the game deletes them automatically during uninstallation. As long as you are sure that the saves are there it will work on any version of the game unless it has some language/version restrictions.
