My husband and I are looking for something unique to do in NYC. It's not necessarily for Valentines Day but we want to do something special during that week.
We've been to all the typical sights in NYC...the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, the popular broadway shows and off broadway shows, the fancy and hip restaurants, the so called "speak easy" themed bars, the zoo's, the aquariums, the museums, the art gallery's, coney island, all the parks...we've pretty much done it all and we've lost interest in it all as well.
I've spent days and days trying to find unique things to do in the city but I keep getting the same "visit central park" type recommendations. We were originally going to stay at a bed and breakfast in the Finger Lakes but unfortunately we both cannot get out of work so we can't stay over night anywhere. Does anyone have any recommendations for fun and unique things to do in the city? Any advice would be much appreciated.

south street seaport is nice, but cold. If you would consider leaving Manhattan, there is this awesome place called Galapagos art space http://www.galapagosartspace.com/ if you're into burlesque or comedy. If you want something scenic and beautiful check out the cruise-liners for dinner on v-day. NYC sure is pretty on the water at night. Ice skating over at Rockefeller is kinda nice too. Still pretty touristy but a little different than maybe what you had been doingUnique Things to Do in the NYC Area?
Pick up a NYC newspaper like the NY daily news or go online and you find some obscure thing happening in the city every week. Whether it's a event or a walking tour of some unique places, it's not difficult not to find something new or unique or even offbeat.Unique Things to Do in the NYC Area?
V-day in New York? Lucky lucky lucky. My favorite place on earth. I wish I was still stationed there (Army) One thing I found out was that even after being there for a year we still found places to go EVERY time we went out. Maybe stay out of the city? There are a lot of cool places out in the countryside as well! Check that out! Just watch out for the Army boys training in the woods haha.
