I am only going for a day trip to celebrate my birthday and was looking for accessible tours and what not. can anyone help? What is there do to in new york city for folks in wheelchairs?
If it folds or is no more that 26 inches wide, you should not have a problem getting around. If you are coming by air, please get to the airport a bit earlier.
Currently, the Astor Place Theater, Lady Liberty's crown and the 102nd floor of the Empire State Building are some areas that you currently would have a problem.
Have a great time here and happy birthday.

Check out http://www.hospaud.org/ for discounts for people in wheelchairs. In particular they give great discounts to Broadway shows! I'd also recommend a great New York City restaurant given that it's your birthday. I saw a lot of great ideas for restaurants and food finds at http://www.nyc-visitor-discounts.com. Go to one of the top restaurants that offer a prixe fixe meal (one price for 3 courses).
There is a tour is Radio City Music Hall (saw it at the previous site) that is 95% wheel chair accessible. This is where the Rockettes perform their famous Christmas Show.

Anything you want. Taxis are annoying, but doable. Time Square is fun.
pretty much everything
