FIRST trip to NYC. Suggestions?

I am an international student in Kansas City, MO. My parents are coming this summer to visit me. It will be their first time to the USA. I was planning on meeting them in NYC, and spending a week there.

My "must sees" for now are: a Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Madam Tussauds, Central Park, and Museum of Natural History.

My parents are 61 and 56 years old. I really want them to enjoy their first trip to NYC.

What other places of interest would you suggest us to see? Are there any good restaurants with good food and affordable prices? If you know any, please, leave the name and address of the place.

Thank you, guys so much!

By the way we are going to be there for a week sometime in mid-July. Very excited!!!FIRST trip to NYC. Suggestions?
Going to New York City is so fun! Here are some of my top places:

Broadway - a play is a must see. If your parents are a comidic couple then Avenue Q, which is a musical about grown up life, with a mix between puppets (muppets) and people. If you want to see a comedic, moving story that will make you cry, Billy Elliot. I saw this a few months ago, absolutly amazing. It is a musical about a boy growing up during the miners revolution. His family and friends are made up of miners on strike, and all he wants to do is dance. Wicked is also amazing play. Opera style, it has captured audiences of all ages. It's a pre-Dorthy wizard of oz story about the witches of Oz. "a lot happened before Dorthy dropped in"

9-11 memorial. The actual site is under construction, but there is a small museaum that is really powerful. Not suggested if you have clastrophobia.

Johns Pizzaria - great dining place. Really good pizza.

Kidomma - A sushi restruant right around to corner from the Billy Elliot theatre. Don't worry if you are dressed a little fancy, pre-broadway crowds are common. We ran into a guy who was part of the ochastra of Billy Elliot.

The MoMA - The Museum of Modern Art is amazing. There are a lot of famous paintingsand sculptures there. Starry Night, Piet Mondrian, Monet... When I went therewas a Tim Burton exhibit, but I think that will be one by when you're going.

Madam Tussauds. I know you said this, but it's amazing. Dont drop this for anything. Bring a camera and plenty of film.

Grand Central Station. Try to find the whispering corner. Its really cool. And there are some famous pictures you can take.

Rokerfeller. Don't go to the empire state building. The rockerfeller is a lot cheeper, shorter lined, and you can see the Empire State Building. Don't go if one of you parents have a bad heart. Or at least warn them Bout the time warp elevator. You can stay inside at the rockerfeller, so if someone is afraid of heights.FIRST trip to NYC. Suggestions?
I spent a couple days in NYC this past Thanksgiving, but i didn't attend the parade (incase you were wondering lol) My boyfriend and i saw so many sites it was amazing what he covered in 2 days! I do recommend a few things..The carriage ride in central park is $25 each person, but if you pick one of the men with a top hat, it is totally worth it!

The top of the Empire State Building was like no other building, you can see everything and i found it to be almost emotional when remembering 9/11. If you do go..go early such as 8am-9am (there was absolutely no line) and it is $20 each. You have the choice to stay inside or outside, and inside does not restrict your view.

We took the subway down to ground zero, but you have to pay to see the museum. We walked many blocks back which brought us to China Town..the hype and excitement is unreal there..i wouldn't recommend going unless you want a knock off designer bag, because they will bombard you to buy one.

As far as restaurants, i heard little italy is awesome, but i didnt get a chance to go.

i heard the ferry out to see miss liberty takes a very long time, so we just settled with seeing her on top of the Empire State Building.

to be honest i couldnt put my entire experience on here because that would take entirely too long! but some great advice is use the subway! it can be a bit confusing at first, but definitely a money saver when compared to the taxi cab =) i hope i was of some help.FIRST trip to NYC. Suggestions?
24 club is the best restaurant right nearby manhattan----u can ask anyone

u should go to the 42nd street near manhattan where they have all different fighter jets and classic planes on a ship deck

go to staten island, long island, the beach, and dont forget to go to the Empire State building

its just amazing!!
I think you should include a Broadway show. They have matinees and on a hot July day you'll enjoy the break from the heat. Get 1/2 price tickets from TKTS at 47 %26amp; Broadway.

Go to St Paul's Chapel at Broadway %26amp; Fulton St. It's across the street from where the World Trade Center stood. It was where the rescue workers went to eat %26amp; rest for months after the 9-11 attack.

It's also the church George Washington went to.

In Grand Central Terminal, at Park Ave %26amp; 42 St, go to the hallway in front of the Oyster Bar restaurant on the lower level. Stand in one corner facing the wall. Have one of your parents stand in the opposite corner facing the wall. Whisper something and the other person will actually be able to hear you. It's amazing.

St Patrick's Cathedral is beautiful. Your parents may like to see it. It's at 5 Ave %26amp; E 50 St.

China Town is interesting even if you don't buy anything. The street signs %26amp; signs on buildings are all in Chinese.

The little sidewalk cafes in Little Italy are a great place to get some pizza.

If you like Italian food, Carmines is good at 200 W 44 St. in Times Square.

Ellen's Stardust Diner is a fun place. The wait staff are all aspiring performers and they sing %26amp; dance while waiting on you. It's a 1950's theme. It's on Broadway between 50 %26amp; 51 St.

I don't think the food at Juniors restaurant is very good, but the desserts are fabulous, so go to the Juniors bakery next door to the restaurant on Broadway between 44 St %26amp; 7 Ave. Yummy!

Take the hop on/hop off double decker tour bus. It circles the city and the guide tells you what's coming up next and you get off when there is something you want to go see and then catch the next bus and go on from there. Buses come by every 15 minutes. You can see a lot from the bus that's interesting even if you don't want to get off. They sell tickets on most street corners.

Enjoy your week. Y'all will have a great time.
