Me and my family are going to NYC for two weeks in the summer. We cant decide what to do there. If anyone has any good suggestions of restaurants, entertainment and more, i would apprechiate if you write it below :) thank you!!Things to do in New York City?? ?
Top of the Rock - Rockefeller puts the Empire State Building to shame. There's a lighted show on the ceiling of the elevator as you go up and down. The place is more spacious, clean and there's different levels you can walk on. Plus you can get a nice view of the Empire State Building, the Rock is incased in plexiglass, so you can get a pic with the empire state building next to or behind you. The cafe at Rockefeller, right next to the ice skating rink has great food and is reasonable.
Radio City Music Hall is a great place to see at night, when it's lit up - its beautiful. The Cirque du Soleil Zarkana show will be showing this summer. It looks phenomenal and tickets are reasonable.
The shops on 5th Ave are so much fun, I recommend going into the Trump Plaza just to use the rest room or to grab a treat. The place is covered in gold accent, its beautiful and really cool.
Dylans Candy bar on 61st and 3rd Ave has candy everywhere, in the floor, on the ceiling. The place is so much fun. Right down the street is Serendipity, which has great food and is known for its frozen hot chocolate.
Bloomingdales is on the corner and if you walk up one more block, the brand new Sprinkles Cupcake eatery just opened there.
Then there's Central Park, so much fun to just walk around and take in the scenery.
There's FAO Schwarz, the Apple Store, and the Plaza Hotel right there as well.
Times Square, you must see a show. TKTS booth in times square will give you a chance to score great seats for a great price to an great show. There's Hershey and M%26amp;M world. Lots of touristy stuff , there's the Discovery Times Square Building with the New Cake Boss Cafe and the Harry Potter Exhibit.
There's so much to do, if you good NYC best eats.. you will get a great list of restaurants with current reviews :)
You'll be able to cover a lot of ground over a two week period which is great, but can also be expensive. There are many outdoor events in the summer (many are free) so if you like music, there are concerts in Central Park and the Pier or classic films in Bryant Park. The summer is a great time to take a boat tour downtown or a lunch or dinner cruise. There are also tons of street fairs where you can browse, shop and eat a variety of cuisines. Speaking of shopping, you can check out some flea markets (a big one in Hell's Kitchen) or the Greenmarket in Union Square and of course, shopping in Chinatown, Herald Square, Soho and Fifth Avenue. Don't forget our museums! We've got quite a few in addition to the Museum of Natural History. Since you'll be here for two weeks, you'll have plenty of time to head over to the Bronx to see a Yankee game as well. You may also want to consider purchasing a 'New York Pass' which will allow you to visit just about every NYC attraction for a flat discounted rate. Your best bet is to see what's going on during the dates you are here. You can view a calendar of events and get some great tips here: http://www.nyctouristcenter.com

Restaurants:
Of course there are over 25,000 restaurants in the city but here are some of my faves
1. Lombardi's Pizzeria on Spring St. I think it's only 1 of 2 coal oven pizzerias in the city. Perfect classic New York Pizza. Zagat rated it best pizza on the planet. I believe them xD You MUST go here.
2. Max Brenner's on Broadway near Union Square. The food is good, but not NEARLY as good as their chocolate desserts. I mean they're so rich... But it's usually packed, I think it's worth it
3. 5 Napkin Burger. The one I went to was in Queens and I assume you're staying in Manhattan, I think they have a location in Hell's Kitchen, GREAT BURGERS.
4. Tony Dinapoli's in The Theater District. Good Italian food and enormous portions
Entertainment/ Tours
I've been to the city so many times but I still enjoy taking the tours over again
1. Circle Line 3-hour tour. If you've got some time to spare. this cruise takes you around the WHOLE island of Manhattan. You get to go under all of the bridges and see 4/5 boroughs (heh no Staten Island) Oh, you also get to see the Statue of Liberty up close. http://www.circleline42.com/new-york-cru鈥?/a>
2. There's always the Broadway Show. I'd suggest Billy Elliot and (if it's still on) West Side Story, and wonderland.
3. Just walk. If you really can take it in and appreciate it it's really nice to just walk around Manhattan
4. Central Park. Beautiful Beautiful Central Park, I love it. It's fun to just wander aimlessly in.
5. Empire State Building Observatory. Obviously amazing views in all directions, which IS BETTER THAN TOP OF THE ROCK. It is. You can see wayyyy more.
6. Night Bus Tour. I don't remember which bus it is that does it, but if you go to Time Square you're sure to find a representative for whichever one it was. You get to go over the Manhattan Bridge at night and go to Brooklyn Promenade and get a fantastic view of the Financial District.
7. The Tenement Museum on Orchard Street. Very cool museum. You get to go into a tenement form the 19th century and kinda hear the stories of the people who lived there
