On a diet - What can I eat from this menu?

I am currently on a diet, limiting myself to about 1300 calories a day. In about a week, I will be attending a party at this restaurant Southern Hospitality BBQ in NYC. I don't want to be a party-pooper and not eat the whole night so I need some advice on what menu items might be ok for me to eat.

If its only one day why not allow yourself one day off? It wont ruin your diet at all and it will also just be more relaxing for you on your day out, just dont over eat but allow yourself a starter/main and dessert and make sure you get straight back to dieting the next day.



If you cant face that, why not opt for a salad? I doubt will be as fatty as a steak or something depending what's in it, or if there are any vegetarian options eat those, because they are usually healthier.



The menu looks really nice, the "Mason Dixon" Red Velvet Cheese Cake sounds amazing! I might just visit what ever country your in just to eat that haha!

Hmm. Your best bet may be to go with the Fried Green Tomatoes and Spinach and Artichoke dip. I'd even chance the Buffalo Fried Shrimp, Boneless Chicken Sandwich, Grilled Portobello Sandwich or the Classic Caesar Salad. If your portion size is large, eat only a small amount of it, and make sure to take a sip of water every few bites to help fill you up.

If you have been staying on track with your diet, a binge may actually help you. If you diet too long and maintain a strict amount of calories you may reach a plateau. Eating more calories than you normally allow yourself will kick-start your metabolism. you'll feel better if you eat what you want to eat. trust me it wont ruin your diet unless you want it too.

instead of soda have water. drink 2 cups of water before you eat your meal that way you feel fuller and won't eat as much just because you're out.
